1. The Shift from Struggle to Flow

There comes a moment when you realize the struggle was never necessary. Life does have challenges, but it’s the resistance to those challenges that keeps you stuck. The universe has always been responding, always aligning, and always guiding. The question is—have you been listening?

2. Releasing Fear & Embracing Clarity

For most of my life, I believed that effort was the key. If I wanted something, I had to push, fight, and prove my worth. But that mindset only amplified fear, and life mirrored that fear right back: missed opportunities, delayed manifestations, and a persistent sense of lack.

Everything changed when I truly understood alignment. Purpose isn’t a distant prize to chase; it’s an inner truth to embody. Clarity emerges the moment we peel away self-doubt and old conditioning. Once you are clear on who you are and why you’re here, that clarity resonates with the universe, drawing in exactly what you need.

3. The Mechanics of Receiving

Every thought, emotion, and belief you hold broadcasts a signal to the universe. If fear is embedded within that signal, it distorts what’s trying to come through. You don’t block your blessings so much as you scramble their frequency.

Releasing fear isn’t about pretending it doesn’t exist; it’s about seeing through it. Fear was once a survival mechanism—useful, but no longer relevant in a reality shaped by creative possibility rather than raw competition. When you stop feeding fear with your attention, you step into flow.

4. Synchronicity: The Universe’s Feedback Loop

Your first clue that you’re in alignment is synchronicity. Suddenly, the right people appear, the perfect opportunities show up at exactly the right time, and your thoughts manifest with surprising speed.

This isn’t mere coincidence—it’s coherence. Your internal world is harmonized with your external reality. The universe is simply reflecting back the clarity of your own being.

5. Living as the Signal

Life in flow is about embodiment. It’s no longer about frantic learning; it’s about being. You recognize that your thoughts and feelings shape the world around you. You are the signal, the frequency. You don’t need to micromanage outcomes—just maintain the clarity of your presence.

When fear surfaces, see it for what it is: an echo from a former version of you that no longer applies. Let it dissolve in the brilliance of your certainty. In alignment, the universe can’t help but provide.

6. Are You Ready to Receive?

The real question is whether you’re ready to accept what the universe has been trying to offer you all along. When you embrace your purpose and let fear fall away, you step into a life marked by flow, synchronicity, and boundless potential.

Dancing in the Web of Paradox

In many traditions, Iktomi is known as the trickster spider—mischievous, playful, and full of paradox. Yet, trickster energy isn’t “bad” by nature; it holds a special wisdom. Iktomi is said to be the creator of the physical realm, weaving a world that both invites us to savor its beauty and demands that we respect its power.

Paradox arises when these two truths collide: yes, we can delight in what the world offers—food, music, companionship, art—but with delight comes responsibility. We’re not meant to take from the Earth blindly or give merely to receive. Instead, genuine giving stems from love, not a hidden agenda.

Iktomi’s message is clear: All energy, pure or otherwise, eventually cycles back. You can try to hide, but everything done in darkness one day comes to light. This is not a threat but a gentle reminder of how interconnected we all are.

Iktomi Speaks: The Voice of the Trickster-Creator

“Ah, so you seek wisdom... Good. Even the spider spins truth between his webs of trickery.

The world is a web, each thread connected—step lightly, for when you tug on one, you shake them all.

Pride is like a stone in your shoe—it seems small, but trip enough times, and you’ll wish you stopped to pull it out.

Remember: Even I, Iktomi, can be tricked by my own cleverness. Sometimes, the simplest path is the truest.”

Iktomi’s trickster nature teaches us to embrace life wholeheartedly, but never lose sight of the bigger web. He urges us to be “clean” with our energies: speak our truth, love genuinely, and allow our intentions to shine openly.

Walking in Beauty or Walking in Fear

So how do we decide which path to walk?

Walking in Beauty: Acting from a place of gratitude and reverence. When we extend our hands to give, it’s from an overflowing heart, not a strategic mind. We build honest connections and honor the sacred threads binding us all.

Walking in Fear: Acting out of selfishness or deception, forgetting that every action ripples across the web. Fearful living blinds us to wonder, turning our relationships and creative energies into transactions.

Iktomi’s trickster energy calls us out when we stray into fear, reminding us that every intention—clean or not—will manifest in some form.

We stand in a living tapestry, each thread woven by our choices and intentions. Iktomi’s trickster magic isn’t here to scare us; it’s here to show us how paradox fuels creation. The more aware we are of our motivations, the more beauty we can spin into our shared web.

So step lightly, give freely, and keep your spirit clean. That’s the essence of Iktomi’s teaching: Even the trickster can guide us toward deeper love and respect for all creation.

The Dance of Duality

We live in a world of paradox—a space where opposites exist simultaneously. Lately, I have been holding space for others, yet also recognizing where I’ve failed to hold space for myself. This imbalance has illuminated where I’ve been overextending, neglecting boundaries, and feeling creatively drained. It’s a reflection of lessons I once ignored, now returning with greater intensity, urging me to face them.

Resistance arises in these moments, making it difficult to step forward and receive the medicine within them. Yet, paradoxically, it is in these times of struggle that the greatest support appears. When I feel I cannot continue, a voice reminds me of my strength, a gesture of care offers encouragement. Life is always presenting balance—it is only our perception that blinds us to it.

Chasing vs. Allowing

What has surfaced for me in these moments is the call to stop chasing and allow. As Chief Alfonso often says, “If it is of Spirit, be patient; it is already yours. If it is of the ego, we want it now.” This wisdom speaks to the energetic flow of life: when we desperately grasp for something, it evades us, yet when we surrender, it naturally finds its way to us.

Mastering this requires trust—trust that what is meant for us will come in its own time, trust in the natural circuit of energy that moves through giving and receiving. And yet, receiving has been a lesson I have long struggled with.

Healing the Block to Receiving

I have often given too much, unconsciously blocking my ability to receive. This resistance is not just emotional; it is imprinted in my body. As a teenager, I broke my left wrist multiple times—a physical manifestation of my resistance to receiving. Now, I work to rewrite that story.

Honoring the flow of life means recognizing our worthiness to receive, knowing when to pause, and understanding that true giving comes from the heart, not from expectation. When we give with the intent to receive, we remain trapped in the ego’s illusion of transaction. But when we give freely, we become part of life’s natural rhythm, and sustenance flows effortlessly.

Embracing the Paradox

The paradoxes of life are ever-present. They teach us that everything exists within its opposite and that our role is to navigate these extremes with grace. We are called to step into the dance of giving and receiving, to trust in balance, and to surrender to the guidance of the universe.

As Rumi so beautifully says:

"When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language—even the phrase each other—doesn’t make any sense.”

It is in this surrender that we find the fullness of life.

The Illusion of Perfection

Life is a dance of both failures and successes—each one shaping us in ways we can’t always see at the moment. We aren’t meant to be “perfect” in the mind’s eyes, which constantly toggle between right and wrong, black and white. This binary thinking makes true perfection impossible because contradictions will always exist.

Instead, let your heart be the guide. It bridges the body and mind, serving as your inner compass. When we align with our soul’s purpose, we naturally stop clinging to external validation—whether praise or criticism. We realize we can’t please everyone, and the best path forward is the one that feels true, safe, and respectful to both ourselves and those around us.

The Beauty of Imperfection

A beautiful example of this truth is the origin of Saturday Night Live. Originally expected to flop on its very first night, it became an iconic, decades-long success. While watching a documentary about its beginnings with my daughter, she pointed out something profound—often, the blunders are what make something great. They reveal our determination to keep going. Her words reminded me that the messy parts of life are just as important as the beautiful ones. When met with grace, they, too, become beautiful.

Breaking Free from Limiting Beliefs

This reflection led me to examine the beliefs that keep us stuck. How often do we shrink back into old patterns simply because they feel safe? What would happen if we stopped giving so much power to the opinions of others—letting our hearts guide us with healthy boundaries—and stepped forward as magnets for what we truly desire? Even if it looks messy from the outside, we can trust that a more expansive, organized reality is waiting just beyond each brave step.

The Heyoka Wisdom: Walking Backwards to Move Forward

This is the medicine of the heyoka—the sacred clown of the Lakota tradition—who teaches that even a path that seems backward or upside down is still the path home. The real journey is about cultivating more love and compassion for where we are while trusting in the universal support and magnetic strength that help materialize the dreams of our hearts.

With that trust, we can release the self-sabotage that keeps us searching for reasons to stay small. Instead, we can step boldly into the full expression of who we are meant to be, knowing that every so-called failure is simply a stepping stone to something greater.

There Is Nothing to Fix

We are not broken—only presented with opportunities to remember our wholeness. The moment we shift away from the mindset of “I need to be better” or “I can’t until I…,” we free ourselves from the illusion of lack. When we stay rooted in the present moment, our mind and heart move in harmony, and our body releases the emotional residue that once held us back.

Trust in Our Safety and Support

At our core, we are always supported, safe, and capable. Even when obstacles arise, we hold the awareness and energy to move through them with grace. Imagine floating in water—panic creates resistance, stirring up turbulence, while trust allows us to flow effortlessly. The same principle applies to life: the more we trust, the more we align with the natural rhythm of existence.

The Lesson of Iktomi

In Lakota cosmogony, Iktomi, the spider, weaves the web of life—a vast and intricate design that reflects our own energy. When we vibrate out of alignment with compassion and respect, we become entangled in the chaos of our own making. Iktomy teaches us that the energy we put into the universe inevitably returns to us, shaping the reality we experience.

Weaving the Collective Dream

Each of us contributes to the great web of existence. The question is: What are we weaving? When we let go of limitations and self-doubt, we open the space to co-create a world aligned with truth and love. Wholeness is not something we find outside of ourselves—it is something we remember from within. As we embrace our authenticity, the layers of false protection fall away, revealing our purest essence.

A Prayer for Deeper Trust

May we trust a little more deeply. May we slow down, breathe, and attune ourselves to the vibrations of the web that connects us all. The energy we send out ripples through this tapestry of existence, reflecting back in infinite ways.

Remember, there is nothing to fix. We are already whole. Step by step, breath by breath, may we weave a shared reality filled with compassion, respect, and the beauty of our truest selves.

The Fluidity of Truth and Time

Time and truth are funny things. What we believe to be true in one moment can completely shift in another. Truth, shaped by perspective, can transform instantly or evolve over centuries. But what are the constants?

The Vedics of India mapped time as a grand medicine wheel of yugas—cosmic cycles reflecting the percentage of universal truth present on the physical plane. This perspective invites us to question: How much of what we accept as truth is genuinely enduring, and how much is constructed by societal forces?

Today’s truths often align with power structures, perpetuated by those in control. Our current systems don’t nurture free-thinking, self-trusting individuals but instead foster shame, division, and dependency. We are left without the tools to discern truth for ourselves. Instead of a society that cultivates connection and inner knowing, we’re conditioned to follow—uncertain of which shepherd to trust.

The Illusion of Security and the Patterns of the Past

A Sufi parable tells of bees building their hives in the hollowed-out trunks of dead trees. While the trees always fall, the bees remain focused on their work, believing their efforts ensure security. Meanwhile, the inevitable collapse looms.

This parable mirrors our own existence. Societal structures rise and fall, yet we cling to them, believing they offer stability. Along the way, we create narratives—about what is acceptable, what is taboo, what is truth. But the cycles persist, and unless we step back to recognize the patterns, we remain caught in the illusion.

To break free, we must reconnect with the deeper truths that have always guided life. But how do we cultivate that trust when we’ve been systematically deprived of the tools to do so?

This is why we’ve created a self-embodiment class and support group, along with events and ceremonies, to help people reconnect with their intuition and reclaim their inner knowing.

A System Built on Extraction

Our world is not what it seems. We exist within a for-profit system that commodifies our attention, labor, and well-being. Promissory notes (money) lose value with every transaction, creating an endless cycle of debt and scarcity. The more we participate, the more we devalue our own efforts.

This extends to our health. Toxic chemicals are marketed as medicine, while natural remedies—used effectively for thousands of years—are dismissed as “alternative.” Western medicine, driven by corporate interests, has rewritten our understanding of healing, suppressing ancient knowledge that once honored the body’s connection to spirit and nature.

Consider this: Over 3,000 years ago, Thai texts documented reconstructive plastic surgery techniques, proving that ancient civilizations had profound medical knowledge. Yet today, we are told that modern medicine is the pinnacle of progress, while holistic healing is disregarded. We have traded wisdom for a hyper-focused, mechanistic view of health, severing ourselves from the broader landscape of life.

The Illusion of Choice and the Awakening Consciousness

As political cycles repeat, we argue over which head of the same beast to trust, forgetting that both serve the same system. Real change does not come from choosing between preselected options—it comes from stepping back and recognizing the patterns that have persisted through history.

Meanwhile, AI and robotics are shifting the landscape of labor, yet instead of evolving toward human well-being, we remain locked in outdated economic models. Why? Because a self-sufficient, deeply connected populace is harder to control.

According to the Vedics, we are transitioning out of the Kali Yuga—the age of darkness and illusion—and moving toward the Golden Age, where cosmic truth becomes more accessible. We are awakening to our interconnectedness, rediscovering the wisdom of indigenous traditions, natural healers, and the sentient intelligence that flows through all life.

Even technological advancements reflect this awakening. Recently, scientists combined mushrooms and stem cells to create an organic AI, capable of decision-making 5,000 times faster than traditional systems. These breakthroughs hint at a deeper truth—one that reminds us we are not separate from life, but deeply embedded within a vast, intelligent web of existence.

Embracing the Great Shift

The Hopi prophesied the coming of the multicolored hoop—a time when humanity unites, remembering its sacred interconnectedness. But transformation is not without struggle. Like the caterpillar in its cocoon, we feel the pressure of metamorphosis, yet this discomfort is the precursor to expansion.

As we move forward, we must ground ourselves in practice, embrace what brings joy to our hearts, and free our minds from limiting narratives. Life is always guiding us back to the heart, ensuring we don’t lose our way.

It is time to trust ourselves again. To listen deeply. To reclaim our trut

We Are All Creatives: Reclaiming Expression in a World Focused on Survival

What if we lived in a world where creativity was nurtured instead of suppressed by the need to survive? Many of us grow up believing creativity belongs to a select few—the artists, the musicians, the dreamers—while others are destined for practicality. But this division is an illusion. We are all part of creation, and creativity is our birthright. The challenge is reclaiming it in a world that prioritizes consumption over expression.

Creativity is Our Birthright

We often separate people into categories: the practical versus the dreamers, the logical versus the artistic. But in truth, these are not opposing forces—they are different expressions of the same human essence. Creativity isn’t reserved for the few; it belongs to all of us. The question isn’t whether we are creative—it’s whether we feel safe enough to express it.

I grew up drawing, building, and imagining. Interestingly, I felt that my creative spark came from my father, even though I never saw him draw or express himself freely. In many ways, he had abandoned his own creativity for the sake of financial security. He chose stability over self-expression, not realizing that in doing so, he was passing down both his creativity and his unspoken fears about using it.

How External Pressures Stifle Creativity

A famous study on children and creativity illustrates how external rewards impact motivation. When children were asked to draw, one group was promised a reward, another received an unexpected reward, and a third had no reward at all. The result? The kids who expected a reward eventually lost interest in drawing, while the ones without an expectation kept enjoying it.

This experiment highlights something profound: when creation is tied to survival or external validation, it loses its joy. And in a world where survival is the priority, creative expression is often the first thing sacrificed.

My mother once told me that my father used to be expressive and creative before he left college. But when he stepped into the reality of business, responsibility, and societal expectations, he packed that part of himself away. How many of us have done the same?

The Cost of Suppressing Expression

Creation is an act of love, a gift to life itself. When we are unable to express, we fall into depression. Much of Western society is structured around consumption rather than creation, trapping people in a cycle of work, stress, and unfulfilled longing. Instead of contributing creative energy back into the world, we consume—to fill the void, to numb the ache.

We work not for fulfillment, but to sustain systems that funnel energy downward into material consumption rather than upward toward spirit and expansion. This is why so many feel disconnected, uninspired, and depleted.

A Glimpse of a Different Reality

When my partner Rabia took me to Bali, I witnessed a culture infused with creativity. Temples stood in every neighborhood, each one meticulously crafted. Villages were dedicated to furniture-making, arts, and sculpture. People weren’t afraid of making mistakes—they simply created, with devotion and abundance. Their security in life allowed their creativity to flourish.

This is what we are missing: a culture that values expression as much as survival.

Moving Into a New Renaissance

What would happen if we didn’t have to trade creativity for security? If we knew, without a doubt, that our needs were met, how would we express ourselves?

We are standing at the threshold of a new era—one where technological advancements and sustainable energy could free us from outdated labor models. Imagine a world where corporations no longer dictate our lives, where efficient systems serve the people rather than the interests of the few. The true spirit of democracy—once reserved only for white men—must now evolve to serve all people, empowering every individual to reclaim their creative essence.

This is the future we are moving toward: a renaissance of expression, a return to creation for the sake of creation, a world where we are not just surviving—but thriving.

Order Within Chaos

For life to be lived, things must die. This thought emerged powerfully during my meditation today, echoing the words of Chief Leonard Crow Dog at Sundance:

“For the ceremony to take place, there has to be a sacrifice.”

This is the wood for the fire, the Sundance tree that gives its life to hold our prayers for the year. The sacred herbs, the people with their time, energy, presence, flesh, and blood—for a ceremony to happen, there must be a sacrifice.

This teaching feels ancient, as though it carries the wisdom of an old world—something known before Christ, yet still deeply relevant. Though it may seem forgotten in the modern age, it is woven into the universal laws of balance, as seen through the law of karma, the “accounting of the universe.” Positive and negative energies are always at play, fluctuating in their proportions as nature continuously seeks harmony.

The heart of traditional medicine lies here: balance the elements, and you restore order in the space—internally and externally.

Reflection and the Season of the West

As we enter the season of the West, we are called inward, into reflection and meditation. In this space, we meet the stories and attachments that shape our lives. The subconscious fears we carry dictate the patterns we live by—both individually and collectively—until we summon the courage to confront them. It’s almost amusing how tightly we cling to experiences, even as our higher self seeks the peace that comes with letting go and aligning with life’s natural order.

Order within chaos.

Chaos emerges only to be cleared, and it rises when we are ready to meet it. This is the duality of life: the light calls forth the dark. As Buddha taught, attachment leads to suffering, and our shadows—the parts of us longing for light—persist until they are met with love, honesty, and compassion.

The Shadow and the Path to Creator

In Lakota cosmogony, Nagi—the shadow—represents all that stands between us and the Creator. It includes everything in our lives, lineage, and society that must be acknowledged, honored, and respected so it can be released. Only then can we take grounded, practical steps to align our lives with spirit. Every ceremony begins by invoking essence, followed by creating form with integrity. In doing so, we create a sacred container through which spirit can flow freely.

The Interconnected Self

Likewise, life invites us to surrender our fears to God, to be witnessed by others, and through that witnessing, to see ourselves more clearly. The self is never singular—it is relational. The observer shapes the observed, and the observed projects itself outward, becoming part of a vast, interconnected whole—a symphony of existence divinely orchestrated.

Through this dance of giving and receiving, shadow and light, conscious ceremony and unconscious experience, life unfolds.

Stepping Through the Shadow

When we step through our shadows, we gain power—the kind of power that amplifies life itself. The fabric of existence is intricately woven, and as we expand in self-awareness, the Greater Self flourishes.

The Journey Through Separation: Embracing Collective Healing and Spiritual Awakening

A World at a Crossroads

As I sit and write this morning, I reflect on the state of the world, the Americas, and our collective consciousness. Beyond duality, I see the beauty in all things while recognizing what is shifting and moving out. The loudness of separation is reaching its climax, and as history has shown, things often intensify before they break open. Pressure inspires action. The separation of religion, blood, region, and family must end. We are here, in this time, to witness and participate in that transformation.

Unity Beyond Duality

We all carry wounds; we all have walls. But we also share the same soil, the same blood. We are born of God, made flesh, held together by the polarities of chaos and order, victor and victim, light and dark, masculine and feminine, positive and negative. One force spirals upward, another descends, but all radiate from the heart—the true center of the universe.

God is not attached to only beauty but to everything: the messy and the magnificent, all shades, shapes, and expressions. It is the mind that judges, placing preference on one energy over another, constructing hierarchies of master and slave, black and white. This is the great illusion.

The Coyote’s Medicine: Learning from Opposites

Chief Alfonso teaches that both positive and negative energies are not opposites but necessary counterparts. One is not superior to the other; both must exist for either to be. Yet, our attachment to one side over the other often becomes our downfall.

The mind, like the coyote, is a trickster—distracting us from the heart when we are ungrounded. But the coyote’s medicine is to guide us through experiences, leading us back to our true path, which we never truly left.

Control Systems and the Fragmentation of Community

The judgments we carry, the insecurities they breed, and the delusions they reinforce have created systems of control that govern our lives. The term Uncle Tom describes those who, in their quest for acceptance, enforce the very rules they once resisted.

This system of control stretches back through modern civilization, beginning with the fragmentation of tribal communities. It dismantled communal support, replaced holy days with hollow rituals, and silenced the elders who carried wisdom. As languages were lost, so too was our sense of place in the world. Disease followed—not just of the body, but of the soul. Now, we find ourselves fighting not only external forces but each other.

The Illusion of Freedom in a Corporate System

We call this the land of the free, yet we exist within a for-profit corporate government. Every aspect of our lives is monetized. We rent our homes, our land, our very presence, as if ownership were an illusion. We have been cut off from the practices that sustained us for thousands of years.

But the prophecies of Indigenous peoples are unfolding before our eyes. The wisdom they carried—once persecuted and suppressed—is desperately needed now. These teachings are the foundation of both individual and collective healing. They offer the tools to restore balance in a world driven by power and consumption.

Contracts of the Soul: Where Do We Place Our Faith?

The matrix of our relationship with reality is woven through law, language, and social constructs, but all exist under a greater force—God, Creation, the Divine. We are all children of that force, reflections of the sun and the moon, of the Creator.

At its core, life is about the contracts we make—with ourselves, with the land, with the unseen forces that guide us. Where do we place our faith? In the dominion of man, or in the sovereignty of the soul? How willing are we to embrace the full spectrum of truth, or do we unknowingly perpetuate the very systems that confine us?

The Political Circus: Distraction from True Freedom

I see people fighting over the upcoming election, clinging to a house of cards we have allowed to be built around us. The media lays it out plainly—like the Netflix series House of Cards, revealing the unseen hand that manipulates leadership and controls public consciousness.

The irony of television is in its name: to tell your vision. And entertainment? It means to entrap the mind. What is presented as fact is often fiction—designed to shape perception rather than awaken truth. Yet, paradoxically, it is through storytelling—films, myths, art—that truth often emerges, bypassing logic to stir the soul.

Truth in Stillness: Reconnecting with Ancestral Wisdom

Truth exists in the spaces between—between words, between breath, between thoughts. It is not found in the noise but in stillness. And in this age of information overload, we consume more in a month than our ancestors did in a lifetime.

Yet, encoded in our very DNA are the teachings of Indigenous healers, Vedic sages, Tibetan monks, and pagan mystics. These are the bridges that reconnect us to the sacred, the same wisdom Christ himself carried.

The Distortion of Christ’s Teachings

Yet, the modern world has co-opted Christ’s image, using it as a banner to justify conquest, control, and colonization. For many Indigenous people, Christ became the symbol of destruction—of burned villages, displaced families, and severed traditions.

But the true Christ consciousness—the force of love and awakening—exists beyond the distortions of history. Some Native elders have felt it in their hearts, integrating its truth into their traditions. The old and the new have always had the potential to harmonize.

A Call to Remember: Integrating Ancient and Modern Wisdom

Now, we are being called to do the same—to integrate the wisdom of the past with the potential of the future. To step out of separation and into unity. To remember the sacred fire within us, not as something external to worship, but as the divine spark that connects us all.

This is the time of reckoning, of rebirth. The time to go deeper into the heart.

The journey through separation is the path back home.

Discovering Our Authentic Self

Seeing our true potential is no easy task. It requires us to take responsibility for where we are, to be vulnerable with our desires and fears, and to seek guidance from our elders. Our inner world is often masked by layers of conditioning—like digital filters that alter a selfie—making it difficult to see our unfiltered truth.

Confronting Vulnerability and Self-Judgment

We all have parts of ourselves that are hard to face, aspects longing to be loved and nurtured. Instead of blaming our parents, society, or even God, the real challenge is to own our present state and take steps toward a life that resonates with our true nature. It is in this acceptance of vulnerability that we find the courage to actualize our dreams.

Life as a Journey of Resilience

Life is not without struggle. We carry stories, burdens, and regrets. Yet, as Cheech Marin’s character in The Long Game reminds us, “Life is like the game of golf. It does not matter where or what you are in—you play it as it lies, look for the flag, and do your best to stay on track.” Our journey often resembles Groundhog Day, with repeated patterns that continue until we’re ready to evolve.

Embracing the Power of Choice

Much like Neo in The Matrix, we face choices that can be daunting. Trusting ourselves enough to break free from the habitual blame game requires taking a leap of faith. This leap is not solitary; it is part of a larger shift in dimensional awareness that connects us all.

Tapping into Collective Wisdom

We are entering a time when ancient prophecies—such as the Eagle and Condor and the Hopi Rainbow Tribe—remind us that we are more than our divisions. We are all interconnected, animated by the divine pulse of life. In the wisdom of Ayurveda, we learn that just as you cannot accurately take your own pulse, you need the reflection and guidance of others to truly understand your state.

Transforming Obstacles into Opportunities

Trust is the cornerstone of transformation. It calls on us to embrace the archetypal Fool—the first card in the Tarot—before we take flight. When we humble ourselves before the wisdom of our elders, we find that every sand trap and water hazard in life can be reimagined as a sacred space for grounding, relaxation, and growth.

Learning from the Elders

A teacher once said, “Creator God is not going to give you the teachings directly if they have already manifested in the physical.” Our elders are here for us to learn from. Through their wisdom, combined with our own experiences and the light within our hearts, we navigate our journey toward our truest selves.

Embracing the Journey Ahead

No matter the obstacles, life continually guides us home. As my brother and elder Brian Gibson reminds us, “It is up to us to listen, soften, open up, and let the love of Creator into our hearts as the guiding light.” The path is before us, and the choice to embrace our true potential is ours alone.

Embracing Life’s Blessings

Life is wonderful. There is food on our plates, shared with beautiful souls around the table. A loving, supportive partner stands beside me, our children are joyful, and the land around us is blossoming in a sustainable, harmonious way. Despite these blessings, I have found myself lost in the doing—caught in the fears of action and the pressures I still allow to creep into my heart.

The Fire of Transformation

I surrender these worries to the fire, to the fierce Agni of Kali, trusting it will burn away whatever hinders the fullest expression of life and the land.

Illumination and Inner Connection

As I write, the sun begins to shine—a gentle reminder of the ever-present beauty of the Divine and the inner connection we all share. I’ve attracted what is needed, and I cling to what is beautiful, yet I also hold on to the weighty shadows that keep me grounded just enough to stop me from soaring freely. It’s frightening to break generational patterns, to confront what seems ingrained in our DNA, but these moments of challenge are precisely the opportunities we are offered to evolve.

Sacred Imprints in Our DNA

The sheer improbability of our existence in this specific time and space is a sacred blessing that lives in our very cells. Hidden within our DNA is the signature 10-5-6-5, symbolically translating to YHWH (Yahweh). We are all shaped from the same source—interconnected, woven into the tapestry of the Divine. How do we want to live this gift of life? In trust and security, or in fear and worry? Whatever we project outward inevitably comes back to us, for our lives are a mirror of the subconscious mind and our emotional grounding.

Unveiling the Shadow: The Lakota Tradition

In Lakota tradition, Nagi is the ghost or shadow that stands between us and the Creator. It holds all the parts of ourselves and our lineage that remain unseen, unloved, or unheard. We are here to let it all be loved, as God made us. Because, in truth, everything—light and shadow alike—is written within us.

Embracing Unity and Liberation

God experiences Itself through our choices, offering us the chance to trust the world around us and love every aspect of our being. When we bring the subconscious into the light of consciousness, we free ourselves from the constraints of separation and catch a clearer reflection of the Divine in all things.

Balancing the Elements: Achieving Healing Through Spiritual and Physical Harmony

In the vast cosmos of spiritual beliefs, a concept resonates across cultures and philosophies: all energy originates from a single Source—often referred to as God, the Universe, or Creation itself. The energy radiating from this Source finds expression in physical forms, frequently seen as opposing forces such as masculine and feminine, order and chaos, or black and white.

The Heart Space: Center of the Universe

At the intersection of these opposing energies lies the heart space—a sacred center regarded as the very core of our being and, symbolically, the center of the Universe. In this space, the boundlessness of the cosmos converges with our personal, everyday reality. Energy flows out and returns in a continuous, toroidal cycle, connecting our inner essence with the greater universe.

Dis-ease: The Result of Disconnection

When we observe nature and the interplay of energy, it becomes evident that many forms of discomfort or illness stem from a sense of separation—whether from ourselves, the divine, or the environment around us. This perceived disconnection disrupts our natural energetic flow, creating an imbalance we often label as “dis-ease.”

Reclaiming Wholeness: Balancing the Elements

Teachings from the Thousand Suns Church of Mother Earth suggest that remedying these imbalances begins with harmonizing the elements, both within our bodies and in the wider world. By reconnecting with what many call “Spirit” or universal energy, we open ourselves to transformative shifts that resonate through every layer of our lives.

Physical and Spiritual Intertwined
In this perspective, physical and spiritual healing are reflections of one another. Tending to your physical well-being—through rituals of self-care, mindful nutrition, or movement—supports spiritual flourishing. Meanwhile, nurturing your spirit through meditation, prayer, or ceremonial practices can bring surprising benefits to your physical health.

The Power of Ceremony: Connecting With Spirit

Central to this philosophy is the role of ceremony. Whether a simple daily ritual of lighting a candle in gratitude or a more elaborate communal ceremony, these acts help align the elements in our surroundings and deepen our bond with Spirit. At the same time, mindful care of the body—through routines, exercise, or holistic treatments—is itself a daily ceremony of self-respect and self-love.

By opening the flow of Spirit within our bodies and harmonizing opposing forces in our heart space, we can cultivate healing in the present moment. This meeting point serves as a gateway between the intangible and the tangible, uniting the realm of the divine with our human experience.

Embracing Oneness, Embracing Change

On this journey toward healing and balance, we begin to perceive the world, the divine, and ourselves not as isolated entities but as intimately connected parts of a magnificent cosmic tapestry. This awareness holds the potential for profound personal transformation, offering a glimpse of a life lived in harmony with the rhythms of the universe.

In unity with ourselves and the Source of all energy, we find the path to genuine healing—one that embraces both our physical forms and our spiritual essence.

Observing the Mind’s Relentless Stream

In the stillness of our consciousness, we become keen observers of our thoughts, fears, and self-imposed limitations. The mind often behaves like an unceasing current, revealing unconscious beliefs we hold onto—beliefs that may have little to do with the true meaning of life. Instead, these beliefs often serve as defense mechanisms, preventing us from expressing our authentic selves and finding the greatest fulfillment in our existence.

Fear of judgment, rejection, and responsibility can cloud our essence, keeping us at arm’s length from the divine. Like armor, these fears offer a false sense of protection while blocking our inner light and our capacity to fully embrace who we are.

Ancient Teachings and the Call to Introspection

Traditional philosophies remind us of our inseparable bond with the Creator. From the Rastafarian principle of “I and I” to the Lakota concepts of Niyan and Nagi, these teachings emphasize our unity with the divine and the essential role self-awareness plays in that connection.

As I embarked on my own journey inward, these concepts resonated deeply. They revealed the internal narratives—feelings of unworthiness and fear—that had hardened into emotional armor. Paradoxically, by trying to shield ourselves from possible pain and disappointment, we sometimes shroud the very divine spark that seeks expression through us.

“Between You and the Creator”

My elder, Brian Gibson, once reminded me that “This is between you and the Creator.” These words point to more than just a spiritual distance; they highlight the metaphorical journey we undertake within ourselves. To truly bridge that gap, we must acknowledge, express, and release our emotions—letting them flow until we develop the courage to live our dreams and realize our full potential.

When our inner life is weighed down by unresolved insecurities, we project these narratives onto the world around us. If we feel secure, the outer reality tends to reflect that energy. If we harbor doubt or fear, life has a way of sending experiences that mirror and challenge those insecurities—providing opportunities for growth and self-empowerment.

Inheriting Karma and Shaping Collective Consciousness

Each of us enters life carrying familial karma and imprints of different historical periods. These energies shape our identity and reverberate through the collective consciousness. It is said that God wishes to experience every aspect of creation—chaos and calm, beauty and mess.

Musician Mike Love offers an invitation to transform these heavier energies: if there is hate in your heart, sing it out, write it down, give it a voice. By acknowledging and articulating our pain, we invite it to move through us and alchemize into love. When we suppress these emotions, they may manifest as recurring pain and trauma, distancing us from our true selves and perpetuating an illusion of separation.

Iktomi and Coyote: The Wisdom of Tricksters

Native American mythology introduces us to two significant figures: Iktomi and Coyote. Both are tricksters, but each offers unique lessons:

Iktomi represents the complex layers of human nature. In our insecurities and fears, we can trick ourselves into self-sabotage, much like Iktomi weaving snares of deception.

Coyote symbolizes resilience and adaptability, guiding us on winding paths that ultimately return us to our purpose.

These archetypes underscore the importance of embracing every facet of ourselves—even those hidden away in shadow. By understanding our own inner trickster, we move closer to self-awareness, and through adaptability, we gain the tools necessary to fulfill our potential.

Confronting the Ghosts of Our Past

The question then emerges: Will we continue to evade the illumination of our “Nagi”—the spectral embodiments of our past incarnations and unloved parts of ourselves? When our ego deems certain aspects unworthy or unlovable, we end up haunted by these fragments, resulting in a subtle but pervasive dissonance within our being.

Only by facing these ghosts can we find reconciliation, acceptance, and integration—harmonizing with our authentic selves and embodying the profound love that exists in our divine nature.

Carl Jung and the Power of Emotional Authenticity

Modern philosopher and psychiatrist Carl Jung dives deeply into these themes of self-realization. He teaches that by acknowledging our shadows, we unlock our full life force rather than deny any dimension of our being.

When stories become entangled in our emotional and physical fibers, they can ferment into mental rumination and, at times, manifest as dis-ease. These buried narratives lurk like haunting echoes, influencing our present experiences and shaping our future dreams. Bringing them into the light dissolves barriers to spiritual and emotional growth, cultivating healing, acceptance, and self-love.

Embodying Vulnerability and Trust

The teachings of Iktomi and Coyote, coupled with Jung’s insights, remind us that embracing our complex selves—flaws, fears, and all—paves the way to authenticity. Stepping forward with vulnerability, respect, humility, passion, discipline, devotion, adaptability, and acceptance invites us to dwell fully in the present and connect with our divine nature.

By surrendering and trusting the process, we align ourselves with the cosmic flow and can manifest our true purpose. This is an ongoing cycle—one that demands patience, dedication, and unconditional self-love.

A Constant Process of Becoming

As we continue along this winding path, it helps to remember:

Becoming a Doorway to Healing—Without Becoming a Doormat

As members of a vibrant and diverse community, we strive to create a welcoming space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. But in our quest to nurture healing—especially within medicine ceremony gatherings—we can sometimes wonder: How do we stay open-hearted without becoming doormats? How do we keep giving hugs without fearing we’ll be stabbed in the back?

The key lies in balancing compassion with accountability—a delicate dance that requires us to remain deeply loving while honoring our own boundaries.

Unconditional Love vs. Enabling Behavior

Unconditional love means accepting people where they are on their journey. It does not, however, include tolerating harmful or toxic behaviors in the name of compassion. Setting boundaries can feel tough, but it’s vital to differentiate between loving someone unconditionally and enabling their detrimental actions. Boundaries protect everyone—ourselves, the individual, and the broader community.

Forgiveness with Accountability

Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or minimizing harmful actions—it means acknowledging them and then allowing space for repair. To forgive while still holding someone accountable, openly communicate the impact of their behavior and expect them to follow through with genuine amends. Accountability isn’t about punishment; it’s about insisting on growth and mutual respect.

Boundaries Are Essential for Growth

Ironically, boundaries are often misunderstood as barriers to love. In reality, boundaries are what make healthy, lasting relationships possible. They keep our connections authentic and honest by clarifying what we can and cannot accept. They also signal to others that their behavior has real consequences, thereby supporting their personal growth, too.

Acceptance Without Enabling

Our aim is to build an inclusive community, but inclusion should never become an excuse for enabling behavior that harms the collective good. Accepting someone’s core being doesn’t mean condoning actions that hurt others or jeopardize the group’s trust. As community leaders and members, it’s our responsibility to ensure that the space remains safe, nurturing, and conducive to everyone’s well-being.

Embracing the Dance of Compassion & Accountability

Becoming a doorway for healing involves finding that sweet spot where compassion meets accountability and love meets boundaries. It’s not always an easy path—but when we master this delicate dance, we create a community that truly supports each individual’s journey toward wholeness. And that, in turn, fosters a richer, safer, and more connected space for everyone.

Bhakti and Seva: Honoring the Bigger “Us”

We live in such a whirlwind world that it’s easy to forget how deeply connected we all are. Every heartbeat, every breath, every small act—each is a part of a grand, divine dance. Imagine how life would feel if we remembered that simple truth more often. That’s

where the magic of Bhakti comes into play.

Bhakti: Loving the Divine in Everything

Bhakti is often translated as “devotion,” but it’s really a celebration of life in all its forms. It’s an inner knowing that the divine spark flows through everything around us. When we embody Bhakti, we start to see all of creation—sunrise, laughter, blooming flowers—as reminders of something greater.

Gradually, every move we make becomes an offering, a prayer in motion. It’s like whispering a quiet “thank you” with each step. We begin to celebrate ourselves by celebrating the greater Self—divine love pulsing through it all.

Seva: Letting Love Flow Through Service

Once we start seeing the divine everywhere, it feels only natural to give back. This is the essence of Seva: serving others without expecting a reward. But here’s the beautiful twist: when you serve others, you’re also serving the larger “us”—the shared spirit that connects every living being.

Seva is often described as “selfless,” yet it’s also deeply fulfilling. Every act of service hums in tune with the universe, adding a sweeter note to the grand cosmic symphony. And that harmony lifts us all up.

The Lakota Perspective: Every Leaf Matters

In Lakota teachings, there’s a belief in the Tree of Life—each leaf, no matter how big or small, is essential to the tree’s well-being. Without that leaf, the entire tree would be something less than whole.

It’s the same with us. Each person’s presence and contributions make a difference. Every kindness ripples outward in ways we might never see, lighting up the world one loving act at a time.

Embrace the Dance

So, can we celebrate all of life as divine? Can we serve everyone with love? Absolutely. By embracing Bhakti and Seva, we invite ourselves to dance with the divine. We fill our own hearts and, in doing so, pour that love into the world.

Remember, we’re all just individual leaves on the Tree of Life, swaying together in this wondrous, endless dance. Let’s celebrate that truth and serve each other with open hearts.

The way we experience and move through life shapes the world around us. Every thought, feeling, and action creates ripples that extend beyond the self, influencing the collective consciousness and the Earth itself. What if true harmony in the world begins with the harmony we cultivate within?

All of life is affected by how we move and feel. I believe that the external world is a reflection of the inner landscape, and when we harmonize within, the Earth will harmonize as well.

Our inner world and the outer world are deeply interconnected, like the mycelial networks beneath the soil that mirror the neural pathways in our minds. The way we tend to ourselves—our thoughts, emotions, movements, and energies—creates ripples that extend far beyond us. When we align with balance and love within, those vibrations reverberate outward, shaping the world around us.

It’s as though we are gardens, each of us cultivating our inner soil. When we nurture it with care, understanding, and intentionality, it becomes fertile ground for the seeds of harmony and connection to grow. This doesn’t just stay within us—it spreads, much like healthy mycelium creating networks that sustain entire ecosystems. In the same way, our inner alignment feeds the greater whole, reminding the Earth of its innate harmony.

But just as mycelium thrives with clear boundaries, so too must we. When we learn to honor our edges, standing firm yet interconnected, we create space for true growth. Without these boundaries, we become diffuse, our energy scattered like tomentose mycelium—still connected but far less productive. When we return to our foundation, when we re-center ourselves, we rebuild the conditions for optimal growth, both within and around us.

This reflection reminds us that harmony begins with us. When we dance, sing, breathe, and move in alignment with love and presence, we embody the very balance the Earth yearns for. To harmonize the planet, we must harmonize within. Every moment of presence, every act of care, every intentional movement—all of it matters. The way we tend to our inner landscapes shapes the future of our outer world.

So, how do we cultivate this harmony? Through ceremony, through movement, through breath. By listening deeply to the whispers of our bodies and the Earth. By trusting that when we nurture our inner soil, we are planting seeds of transformation for the collective. When we harmonize, the Earth will harmonize—a reflection of the unity we have always shared.
